Alessandra Torresani














Alessandra Torresani (born Alessandra Olivia Toreson; May 29, 1987) is an American actress. She is best known for the portrayal of Zoe Graystone in the science fiction television series Caprica. Prior to 2007, she was credited as Alessandra Toreson.

She’s an only child. Ale has studied dancing, singing and acting since she was two years old. As a child, she performed nationally in dance competitions and won many national titles and is a world dance champion in jazz and tap. In addition to the arts, Alessandra is also a black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do and received that when she was nine.

It was also at nine that she got her big break, when she hosted the “WB Kids Club” in San Francisco. She eventually made the move to Los Angeles in 2000 with her family. Alessandra’s past credits include lead roles in the ABC Family pilot “Just a Phase and the NBC pilot “Grand Union,” She has guest-starred on shows like “The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” “Arrested Development”, “Bones”, “CSI” and “The War At Home” to name a few. She has also had lead roles in various motion pictures which include Going to the Mat for Disney and Mad Song for USA. This year she’ll be in the short “Annie Goes Boating” and next year the thriller “Playback”.

Alessandra Torresani stars opposite Eric Stolz and Esai Morales as Zoe Graystone on SyFy’s critically-acclaimed new drama Caprica (named one of Rolling Stone Magazine’s “50 Best Reasons to Watch TV”). Caprica is set 58 earlier in the Galactica universe and differs significantly from its parent series. Alessandra’s Zoe is pivotal in this story of how a self-involved and success-intoxicated Colonial humanity first creates Cylons. This new imagining of a world only a few decades ahead of our own will explore the ethical implications of advances in artificial intelligence and robotics framed within “television’s first science-fiction family saga”.

Alessandra, a multi-talented performer, has starred on “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”, “E.R.”, “Malcolm in the Middle”, “Arrested Development”, “Bones”, “The Sarah Connor Chronicles”, “Happy Campers”, and the Joel Silver pilot “Newton”, among many others. By the time the Palo Alto, California native was asked to host “WB Kid’s Club” at nine years old, she was a veteran of numerous dance and athletic competitions, having already been named a national dance champion in jazz and tap, and achieving a black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do. Her long string of roles on some of television’s most-watched shows would soon begin, as well as star turns in the films “Lost & Found”, opposite David Spade, “Going to the Mat”, and “Baby Bedlam.”
